Poison

You say you are not who you used to be
I know you now
I didn't know you then
Sometimes my brain makes a gamble
hoping my heart will win
A rollercoaster of bipolar False flags
keeping me on meltdown's edge
Reality is distorted
I noticed
Back when, you did not confirm a promise I asked you to keep
I often travel back in my head to that one night  Contemplating was I ever right?
Being wrong makes me a lie

Probability

When looking through love's soul
A window

one word

4 syllables.

Vulnerable

Risking pain of heartbreak for love's sake

Dotting I's and crossing T's

Hopefully you're fortunate enough you won't bleed

Lifted away by your lover's voice,  touch, and dreams

Your mind running through scenes

of goals of growing old

together

Weathering the storms

Advice from times old

stories told

by silver hair couples who kept their love strong and bold

Bliss

The sun is setting along the horizon, Shining as if it was laughing .  The music playing sets the tone for the moment.

To the left of me, in the driver's seat, seats my love. His warmth and charm is like the extension of the sun.

A beautiful soul he is.  As beautiful as the sound of his heart I hear when my ear is  parallel to his chest.
I turn and smile and I am met with a mischievous grin and a handsome face as I rub my fingers playful through his beard.

It's all very simple. Driving, music, his smile, the sky and him ...him

daddy issues

Poem title: Daddy Issues
Written by: Luchetta (Cookee) Manus ©2015

Broken bottle glass once filled with valuable purpose, now sparingly cover the side walk surfaces, along with shatter dreams and lost identity.

No reconciliation for what was lost and never found. No recollection of what love and living life really means.

Its like a beautiful garment torn at the seams. What's torn can be stitched back together perfectly. Maybe?

A small part of me left empty. Void of fond memories everyone can recall, but me.

One moment at a time until they become hours, and days praying for the Phase for complete healing to take place.

passion

Poem: Passion

Anyone on a path, a journey to self, ultimate goal is to reach their desired destination.

Wandering without purpose is only time wasted

Driven by an unknown desire, which overwhelms you to pursue the passion kindling inside

Detouring from the planned course leaves the soul unsatisfied.

last breath

Deep in thought so I wrote a short story
Written by Luchetta(Cookee) Manus 2013

Title: Last Breath

That moment when take your last stand.

You take in a sigh, a deep breath, and prepare for your end.

Surprisingly, while your back is against the wall, backed into the corner,  and you see life's woes all around you. You can fight your way out that corner, but repeated attempts to fight back has always left you weak and too tired and this time you don’t want to try.

Just then!  you look up to the sky pray to the God in Heaven, and suddenly clarity comes to you.

Wait a minute, while starring into the sky you realize, The has no limit. The sky has no boundaries and all you have to do to get out of your predicament is to reach for the sky. The sky is the limit.  Yet God has no limits. Our Space is unlimited.

Instead of meeting your demise, and thinking this is your end, this is only YOUR beginning.

family

Poem Title: Family

All I have are these pictures and memories; both good and bad ones. The only satisifaction I can get, knowing you are living and still exist.
